Pickling and Passivation Paste Gel Star is a unique chemical gel used to clean weld seams and the surrounding areas affected by the welding process. This paste is to be applied on the weld seams and surrounding area with a brush. This paste contains a combination of hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid which can cause serious burn injuries. Pickling and Passivation Paste Gel Star is utilized to provide protection to metals against corrosion and pitting. In either process, an acidic solution is applied to the metal surface to remove contaminants and to aid in the formation of a continuous, chromium-oxide passive film.
